As a longtime HGTV host (10 years, to be exact!), we’ve seen Christina Hall grow as a designer, businesswoman and mom. The one person who has always been by her side? Best friend Cassie Schienle. Christina and Cassie grew up together in Orange County, California, lived together in college, watched each other walk down the aisle and now work together. So, of course, when Cassie needed help designing a nursery for her second baby, Christina stepped in to give her BFF and new godson, Jameson, the sweetest space.

The Christina on the Coast host was ready for the challenge of converting the guest bedroom — Cassie's husband's makeshift closet — into a nursery: She'd already renovated almost every other room in their home. Out went clutter, piles of clothes and a bed too big for the space and in came shades of blue, lots of storage and personalized touches.

The Details

The “wow!” moment of the space is arguably the fun, navy blue accent wall Christina created with geometric molding. On it hangs a custom woodcut sign from the Etsy shop Hickory Hollow Designs that will grow with Jameson through the years.

A quaint patchwork window seat is the perfect perch for mommy-and-me story time. The sleek white dresser has tons of room to tuck away clothes and diapers. Christina incorporated her signature Christina on the Coast SoCal style with a Crate & Kids bamboo pendant light, woven baskets from World Market and a wicker floor lamp.

At Cassie's husband's request, Christina found a way to incorporate a baseball theme subtle enough to please Cassie, too. “We [pulled it off] with the colors, the pillows and a special gift," Christina said of the decor hung above the closet. "I got this [vintage Brooklyn Dodgers pennant] at a client’s house. He collects a lot of antiques. He had a whole stack of these, and this was at the very bottom.”

Both Cassie and James were overjoyed with the sweet space for their baby boy. “It is the most stylish room in our entire house!” Cassie tells HGTV. “Christina knows exactly what I like, so I gave her free reign with it and as usual, it turned out perfect. Our home is complete.”
