Known for her beautiful home renovations and kick-butt career on Wall Street, it’s no wonder so many people find designer and mental health advocate Galey Alix inspiring — even kids! In a recent episode of her new series on HGTV, Home in a Heartbeat, one unexpected person was paying close attention to how Galey operates.

For her busy clients’ surprise renovation — which, after months of careful planning, she completed in just three days — Galey transformed the home's mismatched and cluttered dining room, office and patio into a warm and eclectic entertaining space with tons of storage. At the end of the episode, she revealed the project to homeowners Jonathan and Farah and their two kids.

It turns out, their 4-year-old son James was so excited about the makeover, he started doing his own surprise reveals of his new digs during play dates. Galey posted a video on Instagram showing James (in true Galey fashion) making his friend close his eyes then leading him to the backyard where he exclaims, “This is our new house! “This is what we do this for,” said Galey during the episode. “To see their kids light up in the same home they’ve been living in, it means everything to me.”

As the Instagram titles state at the end of the video: “James is not licensed yet, but is available to sell your home for M&Ms as commission.”
