Sure, we're just a little over halfway through season one of Good Bones, but we can't get enough of the mother-daughter house-flipping team that is Karen E Laine and Mina Starsiak. If you're a fellow fan, good news: HGTV has renewed the show for a new season, coming in 2017! Fellow HGTV star Clint Harp is excited, too:
Filming for season two starts next week (!!!.) Here are 8 reasons we're already looking forward to even more makeovers from this adorable pair.
1: They make fearless color choices.
In a world full of beige and greige, they aren't afraid to create the boldest exterior or brightest front door on the block. Obsessed with this yellow siding!
2: We want to meet them for drinks, immediately.
Mina and Karen know that the best way to celebrate the end of a renovation (or a tough demo day) is with a glass or two of wine. (Preferrably bubbly.) Cheers!
3: They love a good hat.
How do you tear down old drywall and still have a good hair day? Easy: Hat day! Karen and Mina rock everything from cowboy hats to 2 Chicks and a Hammer ballcaps, and they're not afraid to admit why:
4: They're not afraid of #realtalk.
Speaking of putting it all out there, we love that they're perfectly willing to tell it like it is.
5: The duo shows much love for the Midwest.
As a fellow Midwesterner (Ohio girl here,) I have a soft spot for those middle states. Karen and Mina aren't shy about their love for Indiana, and their desire to fix up Indianapolis one house at a time.
6: Two words: Demo day.
Chip Gaines isn't the only #demoday fan! The houses Mina and Karen tackle are pretty much always filthy and packed with trash (or worse,) so demo day is the start of something good. Plus, these two aren't afraid to get their hands (and everything else) dirty during the process.
7: They're upcycling MacGyvers.
Karen is a pro at spotting diamonds in the rough and turning them into unique pieces. (Yes, construction scraps can become wall art.)
8: So much mother-daughter love.
Even though they don't always agree, these two definitely feel the love. We're feeling it, too!
