Take a Sneak Peek at 'Christina on the Coast'
This time it’s (very) personal — and Christina Hall wouldn’t have it any other way.
Starting over from scratch is nothing new for Christina Hall — as Flip or Flop fans know, she’s renovated more than a hundred homes with her costar and ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa.
That said, her latest adventure for HGTV is an intimate one: she’s embarking on a new business venture and a new chapter of her life, and she’s bringing us behind the scenes for both.
We’ll save the big reveals for the one-woman show when Christina on the Coast premieres May 23rd…but like Christina herself, we can’t resist a sneak peek or two.
There Will Be Bestie Banter
No pressure, but Christina’s very first client just happens to be her oldest friend (and publicist), Cassie Zebisch. She’s ready to help her pal turn her childhood home into “Cassie Sanctuary,” as she puts it. That home just happens to have been their teenage hangout, and Cassie’s got photographic evidence.
“We’ve had a few too many good times here,” Cassie notes. What happens in the OC stays in the OC (unless you’re on an early-aughts reality show about growing up in the OC, of course).
There Will Be Real-Time Drama
Handling the unexpected-but-inevitable extra costs that come along with remodeling is one thing when you’re prepping your own property for sale. “When it’s a flip and something comes up, it’s our own money and I do what I have to do,” Christina says. “Here, when it’s a client or a friend, I feel so much worse!” On the bright side, when you are dealing with a friend, you can put them up at your place in the event of an emergency — which is precisely what Christina does for Cassie. (We’re hoping for a Christina on the Coast sleepover spinoff series.)
There Will Be Compromise
Christina’s makeup artist and friend, Shannon Houston, makes a canny observation in the second episode of the season: Christina “actually has to listen to other people’s opinions” on this show. (Christina’s reply: “It’s hard work for me!”)
“When you’re flipping a house, it’s really just me designing for the masses and I can pick whatever I want,” Christina explains. But designing for a person, I have to be really intuitive about what style they’re going for. People have their own opinions, and I guess, potentially, they don’t like what I pick.”
There Will Be an Open House…
…Christina’s open house, that is, as she’s selling her home in Yorba Linda and moving down to Orange County to make a fresh start. (We haven’t shown her this clip.)
…And a Big Move
No word on whether or not the Yorba Linda tile remained intact, but we can report that Christina’s place sold in no time, and that she and Ant are forced to act fast on their own house hunt. We can’t wait to get a better look at their ultimate choice, and that "California Contemporary Boho Vibe.”
There Will Be #CuteOverload
We love everything about this new chapter, Christina.
Tune in for the series premiere of Christina on the Coast on Thursday, May 23rd at 9pm ET.
